SMP and hair transplants go seamlessly hand in hand. SMP is great for individuals who have previously received hair transplants and would like to camoflouge scarring resulting from the transplant surgery. There are two types of scarring typical of hair transplants, the FUT, a strip scar in the back of your head and the FUE, individual extractions of hair follicles that leaves small scars throughout the scalp. Both type sometimes may be difficult to cover and often times can limit how you style or cut your hair. For this reason SMP is a great option to camaflouge existing scarring to make them virtually invisible and cover any trace of ever having hair transplant surgery. In this regard it gives you the option to wear your hair at any length.
Another benefit of SMP for clients who previously had hair transplant is added density. The number one complaint with hair transplant clients is that the results did not provide enough density and fullness. SMP can mimic the appearance of adding hundreds of additional number of new hair grafts that will result in the desired denser, thicker look without going through the down time again for surgery. In addition some clients may not have enough donor hair to do an additional hair transplant surgery so this is another great option where SMP will come into play. What else you should know...
Most people will require multiple hair transplants for results they are looking in regards to density. (Usually like 3-4 transplants to add density.)
If a man in their 20’s and 30’s and already getting that horseshoe pattern going on, hair transplants should never be recommended or advised! Because one of the big disadvantages is that the back of the head would be the donor area. Just by doing simple math you can see there won’t be enough hair in the back in order to cover the front area. So unless you know you’re only going to loose a few inches from the front of hairline by the time you’re in your 40’s or 50’s, than a hair transplant would be a good idea. But if you’re losing more on top, there is only so much hair they can take from the back of your head.
Addition to most often times men have a full head of “thinning” hair all throughout and they aren’t the best candidates for transplant. Regards to results, there are some good ones, a lot of bad ones, and a small percentage of them come out amazing. Some men will have gone through multiple transplants with just minimal results and are left with visible scarring.
Women experience and deal with hair loss issues just like men and wonder if they can benefit as much from SMP as men, well the answer is yes! There are many reasons why women experience hair loss. Some of these issues could be female pattern balding, Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, or general hair loss due to hormonal issues. But unfortunately there are less options available for treating hair loss for women then there are for men. For example, women cannot that take medications such as Propecia due to potenential hormonal effects. Hair transplant surgery can also be an option for some, but there are many factors to consider before deciding. First and foremost hair transplants are costly and invasive, it requires weeks to months of down time, produces scarring, and the results are never guaranteed. It requires you to shave a portion of the back of the head to get a donor site. This can be daunting when you are already experiencing hair loss and in addition to waiting 6-12 months for that hair to grow back in.
With SMP you can achieve instant gratification for your hair loss concerns. SMP is non-invasive, is a fraction of the cost of getting hair transplant surgery and requires absolutely no down time. We will customize the amount of density needed to achieve your desired hair goals as well as color match to your existing hair for a seamless natural finish.
